Frequently Asked Questions.
How do I book with you?
I am fortunate to be a very busy artist and have a good deal of wonderful people interested in my work. Which also means that I have to be very careful with my schedule when choosing and booking tattoos.
I open my books once every year or so for 3-4 days, and during that small time frame I accept new tattoo submissions via email. From the people who email me within those 3-4 days I will choose the tattoo projects I am the most excited about and feel that I am the best suited for, and book them over the course of 12-16 months.
This is always a difficult process and I just simply do not have enough time in the year to do every project. Please do not be offended if yours is not chosen.
I do not accept new tattoos projects when my books are closed unless you are already a long-standing client with significant work done by me already.
The only exception to the above statements are: Tattoo Conventions and guest-spots. If I am traveling to a different city for a guest-spot or participating in a Tattoo Convention I may have walk-up flash available or take special appointments. I will usually post about the convention opportunities in advance on my Instagram.
My upcoming ‘Books Open’ dates will be public on my Instagram and here on my website at least 2 months in advance so people can plan out their ideas and emails. I think I will open my books again in the summer of 2023.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, credit and E-transfer as forms of payment for tattoo sessions and art sales.
How do you charge for your tattoos?
I charge by the hour, my hourly rate is $190/hour (including gst). Consultations are free; however deposits are required to book tattoo sessions and for me to begin drawing.
Where is your studio located?
The address of my studio will be sent to clients after a consultation date is confirmed.
How should I prepare for my tattoo session?
Come to your appointment well rested, fed and hydrated. Wear loose fitting black clothes, or clothes you won’t mind getting a bit of Vaseline or ink on. Bring water, a good attitude, and maybe a light snack. We are going to have a good time, and the session will be over before you know it!
(Please don’t come sunburnt, intoxicated or hungover. You may not get tattooed!)
How long does it take to heal, what aftercare do I need?
I recommend you purchase an unscented, liquid hand soap and a very basic unscented moisturizer such as Lubriderm, Aquaphor, Dove, or Aveeno. I will go over aftercare at the session with you and send you home with an instruction sheet.
I typically bandage tattoos with Saniderm, which promotes fast healing. Tattoos typically take 12-16 days to fully heal when following aftercare instructions correctly.
Will you do coverups or reworks of older tattoos?
Yes, I am usually game to do a rework if I believe I am suited for the project! Coverups are a little trickier since you see a lot of the skin show though in my sketchy or watercolor styles. I often recommend clients get 2-3 sessions of laser tattoo removal if their previous tattoo is large and still quite dark.
Can I buy some of your sexy art prints at our tattoo session?!
Yes! You just need to let me know a week or so before the session so I can get the prints ready ;)
